Comments

In cactusinhabitat.org 2013, the A&M 803 and A&M 805, now identified with P. curvispina, were attributed to Parodia arnostiana (Lisal & Kolarik) Hofacker. In our recent synopsis of the genus Parodia Spegazzini s.l (Anceschi & Magli 2018: 36, 70-161), the latter taxon is considered a synonym of the first (ibidem, 93).

Parodia curvispina (F. Ritter) D.R. Hunt represents one of the external vicariants in the complex of the dominant Parodia mammulosa (Lamaire) N. P. Taylor.
